"DESH BHAKTI GEET" COMPETITION

After a long preparation the children of Devkrupa Ashram, Waghodia gathered together on the 12th of August 2012 to sing songs in honour of our beloved country India in preparation for the Independence Day on 15th August 2012.

The singing competition was held with a double purpose; first of all to make the children aware of the great sacrifice our leaders and freedom fighters have put in to set our country free, to sing praises to them, to thank them and drawn inspiration from them. It was also an occasion for the children to bring forth their talents, to come on the stage and sing and thus preparing them for the future.

The Chief Guests for the occasion were Mrs. Dolcy and Mr. Sylvester. Mr. Divyesh was the Guest of Honour. Along with them were several others who had come to grace the occasion and encourage the children. Among them were Frs. Pablo, Paul, Duarte, Abhay. The evening began with welcoming the Chief Guests and guests of honour with a bouquet of flowers and warm words of welcome.

The children sang beautifully in groups as well as individually and duets. The songs were accompanied by actions. The children wore similar clothes and prepared flags, caps and others accessories needed for them with newspapers, sticks, watercolours and other natural resources. The songs were very inspirations and brought about a feeling for the Country.

Brothers from Good Shepherd Seminary, Alkapuri were the Judges for the evening. They indeed found it very difficult to judge as all the team put up a good show. 

In the end Mrs. Dolcy gave a inspiring speech. She congratulated the students for singing very well and she also encouraged them to keep up the talents they have and use it for their own growth and for the service of others.

Fr. Paul (Rector of Good Shepherd Seminary) announced the winners for the day and also congratulated the students, fathers and staff members for the beautiful performance.

It was indeed a day to be remembered. It did bring in all of us a feeling for the country and the desire to do what one can to uplift the poor and the less priviledged brothers and sisters.
